Raja Subhasish Contemporary Artist
Everything in this creation has a place and role to perform. It all happens in its own time and space. Art is one such. It is everywhere. It influences and is as well influenced by our moods and emotions. It has a huge impact on us on a daily basis.
My art explores these everyday emotions. It delves into the deeper aspects of everyday life experiences and allows me, as an artist, to explore the wilderness of my thoughts. I colour it with shades of new ideas, with a need to expand boundaries, in terms of materials and techniques. Through experimentation, the world of art opens out to include more and more possibilities and becomes broad, spacious and expansive, encompassing forms one could not have imagined otherwise.
When I begin a piece of work, I set out with no explicit course or path of progress. I allow my thoughts and tools to ponder. I keep working to see what emerges in the process. until I stumble on something neither I nor anyone else could have anticipated. The details of my thoughts are uncovered during the process of exploration. And the outcome of all these experiences is what you see here in my paintings.
My works are created on acrylic sheets with the medium of ink and acrylic colours using reverse painting techniques. The use of colour on acrylic sheets gives it a graphic quality. Chromatic freshness, textural variation of great subtlety unites and keeps the composition together.
